I debated between 3 stars and 4 stars before deciding on 3.5 stars. For the purposes of GR I've rounded up.
Love’s Portrait is the story of two people in love. Both are cynical against marriage for different reasons. Having lost a wager, Julia agrees to a night of passion with Morgan. However, by the end of the night Morgan wants more, he wants a lifetime. Julia refuses to give up her independence to man – again.
Morgan sets out to win Julia’s heart and who her that he can be trusted.
I enjoyed this story immensely. Ms. Burns painted a wonderful backdrop by which these two people find each other and love. I enjoyed watching Julia become her own person and learn to stand on her own two feet. I also enjoyed watching Morgan realize life is more than hotels and work.
Ms. Burns did a wonderful job of showing how Morgan and Julia had to struggle to find each other. I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Burns.
